Taking it back...

Last week I did my last two full days of commuting by bike to work on Monday and Tuesday.  When I got home on Tuesday night, my throat was bothering me and I had chills, so I knew I was doom with a cold.  I had to stay off the bike and not exercise from Wednesday until Sunday, which allowed me ample time to recover my cold got worst.

So the beginning of this week, I dragged my butt downstairs to train indoors on my trainer.  I was determined to ride 45 minutes at an easy pace to get acclimated to being back on my indoor trainer.  It was quite a workout as I sweated away as it dripped onto the rubber mat below.  I am now on my 4th day of training indoors and I am enjoying the time as it is well spent as I can focus on working out, instead of staying warm.  From riding indoors, I have been able to actually lose 3 lbs, which indicates that my body is burning fat effectively.

On a different note, I have been reading the Georgia Cross forum (http://www.georgia-cross.com) that I am getting the bug to race cyclocross.  So I'll be shaking the dust off my trusty cyclocross bike on Saturday to race at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers, Ga.  I raced cyclocross 2 years ago and my first race was at this same venue, so I am looking forward to it!  If I race well, I'll probably race every Sunday from here on out until the cyclocross season ends on 12/7/2008!
